"TUG DUMBLY & THE HELLSONG GOSPEL CHOIR"

WHERE: Sandringham Hotel, 387 King St Newtown
WHEN: Sunday July 30, 4-7pm
COST: Free

Stand-up poet Tug Dumbly recently corralled some buddies into doing a one-off music gig with him for his birthday, and by gosh they had fun! One nice reviewer said of the show:

You might have your serious rock star poses and skewed haircuts in indie land, but Dumbly is the antithesis and a breath of fresh frenzy, executing his trademark collection of cocksure self-deprecation and parody. The only thing he took seriously was his comic timing and musicality. And yeah, maybe his hormonal Elvis hip swivelling. My face was aching from laughing (see full review at www.fasterlouder.com.au/reviews/events/5032/.)

Yep, you guessed it, so much fun was had by Tug and his Hellsong cohorts - who include double-bass dynamo John Maddox, and Michael Ward from country rockers the Remains on drums - that they're doing it all again. Be there as they barbeque a swag of sacred cows, from Elvis to Nancy Sinatra, as well as a deliciously skewed selection of originals, Sunday the 30th of July, at the Sandringham Hotel, King St Newtown, 4-7pm, free!
